We are already in Block 2 and have had a great start to our new classes. Your presence and voice are integral to our program. Information for many of our upcoming activities are in this newsletter (mark your calendar). Weekly updates are now sent out separately from the weekly class summaries. Please remember to send a water bottle with your child’s name on it to bring each day, even now that it is cold, or to keep at school if they are in an ongoing group.

Field Trip to Boomeria
Friday, December 11
"Perhaps you've heard of BOOMERIA up in Bonny Doon? Preston Boomer recently retired as a 50+ year chemistry teacher at SLV High. Over the years, Le Boom, some of his students, and his two sons Alex and Laurence have built a monument to anachronistic fun. Several decades of benign dementia and a mysterious ability to extract hard labor from other people's teenagers has allowed PQ LeBoom to construct an amazing fantasy world. While this inner world remains unmappable, the physical manifestation of it is called Boomeria. As a teenager Teacher Martha was a student of Boomer's and participated in many fun events up at Boomeria. She has arranged a chance for interested students and their parents to come and check out this fascinating place.
Friday, Dec. 11th, we will meet in Felton at 11:30am to caravan to up to Bonny Doon. Students must be accompanied by an adult. We have been invited to explore the Great Castle, the Catacombs (bring a flashlight!), the Pipe Organ, the Control Room, and maybe even see the Dungeon and Guillotine! This event will happen even in light rain... Heavy rain will cancel. No $$. Must sign up with Martha prior to Dec 8th. Martha will get out specific details with expectations to those who signed up as the date approaches.

“The Jungle Book: Welcome to the Jungle, An Original Rock Musical” written by Janinne Chadwick.
Janinne Chadwick, script writer and executive director of Little People’s Repertory Theatre, has adapted her script for our charter students. The production combines pop culture (Gilligan’s Island, Lost, and more), pop music icons (The Jackson 5, Axl Rose, and more) a variety of classic and contemporary music, and classic Jungle Book characters with a twist! We have 67 students representing all of our charter programs; QH Homeschool, Fall Creek Homeschool, Coast Redwood Middle School, Coast Redwood High School, and the Nature Academy! Directed and Choreographed by Amber Walker
