Welcome back… and welcome to our new families!

Thank you to our amazing families for keeping us strong all these years! Our theme this year is “Ancient Civilizations and the Wonders of the World”.  We will explore different cultures, architecture and landmarks all over the world, while learning about their technology and successes and how we use their inventions and concepts in our world today.  We know we have many talented parents out there and would love for you to share your gifts with our kids - if you are interested in leading an activity, please let us know.

Quail Hollow Homeschool Events

We would like to give special attention to our camping trip: This is our beginning of the Year Family Tradition!  Starting off the year singing songs ‘round the campfire, playing on the beach together, early morning coffee “rescue”, preparing meals together, etc. is the perfect way to kick things off and really get to know each other in a way that parent meetings and classroom time just don’t provide for.  We encourage your whole family to join us!  Working parents are encouraged to join us at night for dinner and campfire time.

Tuesday, September 13 - Thursday September 15

Family Camp at New Brighton Beach

(Park Ave. exit off of 1 South, turn Right and follow signs)

  • Tuesday, September 13-Thursday September 15.  Arrive anytime after 2pm.  You are in charge of your children : )  Katie and Gillian will give parents some down time on Wednesday and lead activities for our students.  Check out is at noon on Thursday. We have group site 1 this year.  It was reserved by our wonderful Shireen Doyle and it is in her name.  If you are in need of this group site, please email and confirm with Shireen if there is still space available: shireendoyle@yahoo.com

  • It is not too late to book your own campsite - many families have already reserved one.

  • Look forward to an email with a more detailed schedule of activities which Katie and Gillian will lead, and of course there is always parent supervised Beach Play Time!  Both evening meals will be potluck style.  Siblings are welcome to come, and parents must be present with their children unless you have made special arrangements with Katie and Gillian, and another parent.

All Charter Beach Day at Twin Lakes Beach

11:00am-2:00pm

Join us for our Annual All Charter Beach Day with all of our Charter Programs!  We have moved over one beach to Twin Lakes Beach (by The Crow's Nest), per lifeguard suggestion, as to avoid the worst riptides.  This is a great way to meet new families and have some relaxed fun in the sun together.  Teachers will be in attendance from 11am-2pm but feel free to come during times that are convenient for your family and stay longer and enjoy spending time with other Charter families!

As with all of our All Charter events - parents are responsible for their children at all times.  Please stand and watch at the edge of the water if your child is playing

in the surf.  This is not a drop off event.  Parents must be present with their children, or send their student with another parent who will be responsible for them.

Friday, September 30:

All Charter Capture the Flag & Picnic Potluck

10:30am-12:30pm

Played once a month on the fields at Quail Hollow Ranch it is also a meeting place for parents to socialize and get to know one another.

Time:  10:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a Picnic Potluck at the picnic tables and meadow near the cottage.
